Students and staff can celebrate our diversity and improve our culture by promoting ideas that tackle racism.
During Harmony Week – Monday 20 to Sunday 26 March – UNSW joins with people and organisations across Australia to celebrate inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone.
At UNSW, our cultural diversity is one of our great strengths. We are a wonderfully vibrant, multicultural community with students and staff from more than 120 nations, with an abundance of perspectives and experiences that enrich our learning, teaching, research and workplaces.
We don’t tolerate racism or harassment and, as part of our Be A Better Human initiative, we always encourage everyone to do more when it comes to creating safe and respectful spaces (both physical and digital) at UNSW. This is especially so when it comes to preventing and responding to racism in our community.
To mark Harmony Week and the UN International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination
this year, the Division of Equity Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) is launching four new anti-racism grants up to the value of $2500 each.The grants will enable students and staff at UNSW to celebrate diversity and continue to improve our culture by bringing their ideas that tackle racial discrimination to life.
We look forward to seeing your ideas for projects you’d like to lead – these can be in the form of events, workshops, videos, publications, resources or any medium you think will have the greatest impact.
