Mardi Gras 2020

Sydney Mardi Gras is an important message of universal love, and activism. It reflects the progress we have made over the decades towards diversity, inclusion and acceptance.

For the past three consecutive years UNSW has marched with pride down Oxford and Flinders Street in Sydney’s Mardi Gras parade. Dedicated students from the Faculties of Engineering, Built Environment and Art & Design combined their talents to construct a float, design costumes and devise choreography.

“It’s amazing you can be whoever you want to be at UNSW, and we will make sure you’re included.”

This year’s theme for Mardi Gras - What Matters gives students and staff the opportunity to celebrate and show support and acceptance for the LGBTIQ+ community.
