Initiatives

We work with students and staff across the whole University to evolve a culture that embraces equity and supports a diverse and inclusive community through strategic policies, initiatives, training programs and events.

Arc and UNSW have partnered in an initiative called 'Be A Better Human' in order to help strengthen a respectful and inclusive culture.Together we want to encourage everyone to do more when it comes to understanding, preventing and responding to disrespectful behaviours.

The EDI Staff Consultative Group consults on proposals for staff-facing projects and initiatives across the university, drawing on their lived experiences. Members bring an authentic perspective through their lived experience, offering firsthand insight into the challenges, needs, and realities faced by individuals in specific diverse contexts or communities.

International Women’s Day has become a time to reflect on progress, to call for change and to celebrate the courage and determination of the women who changed history, and those who are working to advance gender equality into the future. See what's on at UNSW this year.

We are proud that our community is made up of diverse genders, sexes and sexualities; and we continually strive to make UNSW a welcoming place for LGBTQIA+ students and staff.

The UNSW Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP) 2022-2025 commits the University to removing the barriers people with disability face when it comes to accessing and succeeding in tertiary education.

The Women's Wellbeing Academy (WWBA) connects people across the UNSW community to enhance and highlight our diverse multidisciplinary work in the area of women’s wellbeing.
